Willa Six Month Letter

Willa, Darling! Six months old already!

10. Today at 8:22am Today is Willa's six-month birthday, Big Guy's 14th birthday and I've already heard two Grateful Dead songs on the radio this morning. It's shaping up to be a sunshiny day.

9. January 13 at 7:15am Willa's realizing she has teeth. She's moving her lips over them, making the sweetest little kissing sounds. How is it that she gets cuter and cuter every day? Is she taking lessons at night while we sleep?

8. January 4 at 8:02am Good morning, firefighters. Yes, that's right. I locked my five-month-old daughter in the running car. New mom. New car. My bad.

7. December 24, 2009 at 2:40pm I snowshoed around our 80-acre park in the diamonds-on-ice snow. I put on carols and prepped the turkey, channeling grandma and chatting with mom to give it extra goodness. Now my daughter sleeping in her swing by the pretty lit tree, and my husband out in the sunshine shoveling the walk. And I'm laying on my couch, having found this magical hour of nothing-to-do. I'm brimming with joy that this is our Christmas.

6. December 10, 2009 at 7:42am Woke up well rested and happy. Had a warm shower and got ready for my day in the quiet of dawn. Then baby pooped on me. Then baby threw up on me. How quickly we get derailed...

5. November 21, 2009 at 2:00pm Just decorated the house for Christmas then sat outside in gorgeous sunshine and lunched with Mom.

4. November 5, 2009 at 3:25pm Flying away tomorrow with little Willa, our first flight!

3. October 14, 2009 at 8:12am Baby Willa has learned to sleep eight hours straight at night. Now someone needs to teach Mommy not to wake up at 3am worried out of her mind!

2. September 16, 2009 at 6:09pm So grateful for five weeks of help with Willa. So grateful for time with just the three of us now.

1. August 11, 2009 at 3:08pm It is with spectacular joy that we announce the arrival of our baby girl Willa Marie Phillips, who arrived after a swift 12-hour natural labor on August 9, 2009, at 5:39 in the morning. She weighed in at a hefty 8 pounds, 2 ounces and measured a lengthy 21 inches. Momma, Papa and Willa are all in excellent spirits and are now cozy at home together. Hugs to all of you for your kind words, well wishes and prayers!
